The Metzeler range includes circuit motorcycle tires developed based on experience in the racing sector. A wide variety of racing tires for track use, perfect for optimizing performance and competing at the highest level in all conditions.

RACETEC RR SLICK
Slick tire for professional competitions, developed and tested in road racing.
- Maximum adherence, agility and predictability at all times
- Trajectory precision and stability at high speeds
- Adaptability in different asphalts, temperatures and in the set-up of the motorcycle
- Consistency of performance throughout the entire road race
front compounds
One of the characteristics of the RACETEC RR Slick is the use on a wide range of asphalts and temperatures. For this reason, the choice of front tire compound should be made depending on whether the driver prefers stability and precision when entering a corner (K2 version) or predictability and a feeling of grip at the limit (K1 version).
Predictability in racing tires is the ability to inform the driver when the tire's grip limit has been reached. During hard braking and when cornering, the pilot will feel this information in smoother maneuverability, as well as in understeer due to front axle skidding.
The ability to correctly handle these situations is a factor that helps drivers go faster.
The neutral characteristics of the RACETEC RR Slick inform the rider when the limits are reached and offer the rider to experience a greater feeling of control, to achieve the fastest lap.
rear compounds
And for the rear tyre, the choice of the version is based on the coefficient of friction of the asphalt (very severe / not very severe, depending on whether we ride on the circuit or in a road race) and the temperature of the asphalt (with a maximum of 25º/30ºC).
An important aspect of compound development has focused on consistency of performance, through use (miles or laps) and time (thermal cycling).
The addition of specific resins in the compounds and the use of exclusive mixing processes allows RACETEC RR Slick to be used during different thermal cycles.
Nota: K0 = Super soft, K1 = Soft, K2 = Medium.
The temperature table refers to the operating temperature of the tire. The choice of compound may vary depending on the set-up of the motorcycle and the riding style.
RACETEC TD SLICK
Don't stop riding on any circuit. Plug & Play racing fun: get your motorcycle ready for the circuit with the original measurements and without the need for tuning.
- Composite with polymers with a low Tg (Transition to crystallize)
- No need for heaters
- Performance from the first corner
- Symmetrical rear tire structure
- Reversible rear tire
- Consume every last area of rubber
Plug&Play racing fun
Original measurements. The original measurements allow a smooth transition from the original equipment tires to the specific competition tires and allow the rider to skip the variables of setting up the bike.
Performance from the first corner. The RACETEC TD Slick allows for rapid warm-up and allows drivers to negotiate a circuit from the first corner without worrying about the initial tire temperature.
Single layer, radial structure. The more similar a structure is to the original tire of the motorcycle (First Equipment), the easier it is to find the best set-up for the motorcycle and thus make the most of your experience on your track-day.
Reusable for several sessions. Great consistency of performance. The uniform thermal and mechanical behavior of RACETEC TD Slick significantly reduces thermal decay, allowing RACETEC TD Slick to maintain its chemical properties after several runs and thermal circles.
Abrasion and cold tear resistance. A wider contact patch when opening throttle on corner exit, rapid warm-up and effectiveness at a high temperature range allow the RACETEC TD Slick tread compounds to operate within a correct range of work, avoiding cold tearing (tearing) or other unforeseen phenomena.
RACETEC RR
Feel the RRace, feel the RRoad. Developed to win road races, the RACETEC RR deliver maximum performance.
- minimize wear
- Interrupts waves of wear
- Maximizes contact area and slick zone
Grip in all conditions
Road racing presents different and variable conditions and the RACETEC RR compound specifications have been developed to deal with them all. The RACETEC RR compound recipe combines a selection of polymers and resins of varying degrees of carbon black to maximize hysteresis – even on slippery surfaces.
The RACETEC RR front tire grips the micrograin of the asphalt, offering more grip and wear resistance, even on severe asphalt; The polymer mixture also incorporates high flexibility at low temperatures.
Thanks to the versatility of use of the RACETEC RR on a wide range of asphalts and temperatures, the choice of the compound in the front tire should be made taking into account the driver's preference in terms of greater stability and precision when entering corners (K2 version). o predictability and feeling of “grip on the limit” (version K1).
For the REAR tire, the choice of version is based on the friction coefficient of the asphalt (very severe/not very severe, depending on the circuit or road race) and the temperature of the asphalt (with a maximum of between 25º and 30ºC).
The bi-compound of the rear RACETEC™ RR incorporates a central conductive strip, which supports the soft compound of the shoulders and transmits the heat generated on long straights to this area, ensuring that the compound has a working temperature at all times and can catch on the next lie.
Nota: K1 = Soft, K2 = Medium, K3 = Hard.
The temperature table refers to the operating temperature of the tire. The choice of compound may vary depending on the set-up of the motorcycle and the riding style.
RACETEC SM
Brake, crash, jump, win. The RACETEC™ line specialized in Supermotard. Advanced competition compounds and profiles for the most effective handling in curves and on straights.
- Quick heating
- Optimized abrasion resistance
- Provides extra mechanical grip on off-road sections
- Grooves that offer quick and effective self-cleaning
Excellent line and great precision in skidding and braking
The METZELER RACETEC™ SM offers the rider the possibility of choosing, for the front wheel, between two different rim sizes, depending on what is best for the bike or the rider's riding style. Both offer 0° steel waist, to maintain an excellent line and skidding precision when braking.
16,5″ front tire. The 16,5″ front range (R420) is available in K1 and K2 compounds to compete in the Supermotard S1, S2 and S3 categories (ON/OFF circuits). The new structure offers faster corner entry, maintains the line and the feeling of contact while lying down.
17,0″ front tire. The 17″ front range, available in K1 and K2 compounds, is optimal for the S4 Supermotard category (asphalt only) combining the Supermotard with METZELER's experience in Road Races.
Fast heating, immediate self-cleaning
Thanks to innovative mixing processes and a high content of ultra-fine silica, RACETEC™ SM delivers rapid heating and immediate self-cleaning in all compounds. The RACETEC™ SM can be used without heaters.
Front compounds. All front tires feature 100% silica compounds, with reduced porosity, to ensure rapid warm-up and self-cleaning properties after riding on dirt sections. Compound choice should be based on riding style (stability vs. contact feel) and operating temperatures.
Rear compounds. The RACETEC™ SM rear compounds offer great thermal stability to keep the overheating effect caused by skidding in the shoulder area under control. The choice of compound should be based on the roughness of the asphalt and the operating temperature, as well as the relationship between desired performance and durability.
