Steve Parrish, latest star confirmed for World GP Bike Legends

The list of confirmed legends for the Jerez Grand Prix from June 19 to 21 is growing. Steve Parrish, known as 'Stavros', confirms to be another of the drivers who will compete in the event.

Steve will return to the track to celebrate the World GP Bike Legends, an event that will feature a large collection of riders from the highest motorcycling competition. The stars will meet in a racing battle in Jerez, Spain, from June 19-21.

Parrish is a veteran driver who has participated in more than 50 Grand Prix, his best result was in France in 1982, finishing third. Teammate of one of the greatest of all time – the incomparable Barry Sheene – he made his debut in the World Championship in the 1977 season. Parrish gradually gained prominence and became one of the most relevant characters in the paddock due to his reputation for joker. He is assured that he will be the source of entertainment in Jerez when he meets up with his former colleagues.

“I think all of us racing together at Jerez is going to be very special,” enthused Parrish. "It will be great to blow out the cobwebs and run all over again. I can't think of a better way to spend a summer weekend in Spain than to be back with my mates and some of the most impressive racing machines ever made, in fact the more I think about it the better it sounds! There will even be live music. It's going to be a weekend to remember. I can smell the two-stroke oil already…”

After the Cto. British Superbike and truck racing championships, Parrish will be a tough opponent in this race of legends. An event that will feature some of the biggest names in this sport aboard their original racing machines from the 1980s and 1990s. Former world champions such as Freddie Spencer, Wayne Gardner, Christian Sarron, Kevin Schwantz, Didier de Radigues and Graeme Crosby.

The weekend will feature the 125cc, 250cc and 500cc categories with the respective set-up, qualifying and races, a complete one for these three days. These battles will be some of the highlights of the event, which includes not only a huge collection of racing icons, but also live music from Bonnie Tyler and Toseland, as well as an incredible shopping area, grandstand access, paddock and pit lane.

At the moment, the discount campaign on the advance purchase of tickets is still active. Until March 31, 2015 the full price for the weekend is 55 euros. These tickets give fans full access to the grandstands, music concerts and paddock. For more information, go to www.worldgpbikelegends.com
